Top Ten Tuesday (9/11)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke & The Bookish

This weeks topic is;
Top Ten Books That Make You Think (About The World, People, Life, etc.)

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
This book had me thinking about so many different things. It had me on this emotional roller-coaster! This book will tear your heart up. Well, at least it did mine. Hazel finally found love in her life. Suffering from Cancer, she just was at terms with this was her life & that is all. Then Augusts came into her life with a bang, and she was never the same. He teaches her so much, about not just life, and how unfair it is, but how to look at it a different way. He taught her love!

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
I didn't even finish this book. Honestly I didn't even get past chapter 5! I need to go back and read it. But, wow. I was crying very early on and my heart was just broken. Some people are heartless, and it just kills me.

But I Love Him by Amanda Grace
Abuse. How can a "man" put his hands on a woman & then feel like it's ok? It will heal?! No, it never heals. It's a scare you put not only on her body but her soul & it makes me sick. This book was hard for me to read. But such a great book.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Every time I read a book like this I always think "Is this where the wold is going?" It's sad to think like that but then again, look what is happening in the world. Slowly, it's happening if this don't change.

A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young
Self sacrifice. Charlotte had some balls "So to say"! She was willing to give up her self, her everything to save everything. That takes a strong willed person. A selfless person, and that was Charlotte.

Jenny Pox by J. L. Bryan
How can people be so mean to someone who is different? Jenny was a very sad, secluded person. She couldn't experience things like others, then she had to be tortured by them because of her difference. So she stayed alone. Which broke my heart. Even though she was different, she worked around it. There was no need for snotty nosed B----es to act as they did towards her!

Something Like Normal by Trish Doller
Life after being in the army. Seeing things that change your life. Being changed & trying to heal. This was an amazing book about all of that. Seeing through the eyes of a character who has went trough & experienced so much. & then seeing them heal. Priceless

If I Stay by Gayle Forman
It all came down to one choice! ONE! What if you was on the edge of death, and you had to choose to fight or go.

The Wild Ones by M. Leighton
This one has me thinking about people alright. Cowboys. Maybe I like cowboys more then I thought. Especially if it's Trick.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Take everything you feel and shut it off. How would you be able to live? To not feel or be allowed to feel love.

  6. I really hope you go back and re-read Between Shades of Gray. It is a really heartbreaking book but, it is beautifully written, and it really does make you think about the strength of the human spirit. I love it!

  8. I haven't read any of the books on your list, but a number of them are ones I want to read, hopefully soon. TFIOS is one I want to read really soon. I have the audiobook so once I finish the one I am currently listening to, TFIOS is up!

I do want to read Between Shades of Gray but I definitely need to be in the right mindset before I give it a go. Especially after hearing how you say you had to stop because you were crying buckets.

I've not read The Wild Ones, but my interest is definitely piqued.

Great list; thanks for sharing :)
