Book Summary (From Goodreads)
The year is 2032, sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her.
Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust...and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

My Thoughts:
Lets talk cover 1st. Thoughts? I love it. The colors. How she is running. Amazing. A+.
Eve was a good read. Hands down. Wow. I was really into this book, and before I knew it I was finished.
A virus broke out in 2016. The vaccine that they were giving people just really made matters worse, so their was a lot of death. The population was dwindling.
Eve lives in this school for girls. Kind of to me like a compound. You can't just get out. Or in. There are gates, and guards.
She will be attending this school until she is 18. Which she is close. Then after the girls turn 18 they are sent to another school, where they will get "careers" basically. Live, have a life. Learn new things.
That, is not the case.
Eve witnesses a girl trying to escape. In the process she tells Eve exactally what it is that they are doing over at the "school". It is not at all what Eve was taught.
After Eve discovers the truth on her own, she plans her own escape. Not wanting to be subjected to doing only one thing for the rest of her life. Eve refuses.
With a little help, Eve's escape is successful.
Along Eve's journey to freedom, she an unexpected friend and falls in love with a boy who will melt your heart.
Eve's journey is an every day battle with staying safe, and alive...
The King is not happy that Eve is gone. And he intends to bring her back to where she belongs.
I cannot wait for book 2. This was a edge of your seat Dystopian novel. About love, loss, hope, strength, courage, honor, & evil.
You will fall in love with Eve.
Eve & Caleb's relationship that develops over the span of the book is real. Not insta love. It is a love that you as a reader can feel, and know that they truly love each other.
The ending will leave you heartbroken. But hoping for everything to be ok in book 2.

  1. Wow I step away from the blogging world for a few days and when I come back you have a whole new layout. I love the new layout by the way!
I'm so happy to hear that Eve didn't have instant love in it, that is really what has been bothering me about so many teen stories lately. Thank you Loretta for the great review, I will add this one to my wish list even though I'm on a book buying ban!
I hope your ban is going well. :)

  2. YES! This book was awesome but the ending made me sad. =( I need book 2 now!!
